Alexandra shares the beautiful moments of Vermont with the world. The gardens, the long tables, a true country house outside Burlington. Being a Vermonter, and knowing her, I can vouch that it is not a performance. It is just the reality. I left dinner with flour on my shirt. I was looking for antiquing inspiration for a weekend in Maine, and there she was, sharing an estate sale haul for the house she is building out in Downeast Maine. We have kept in touch since. If you've spent any time on the Maine coast, you know the Nubble. Rocky island, white Victorian lighthouse, the Atlantic doing what it does. It's my go-to whenever friends visit. What I didn't know, until recently, is that someone tends it. Matt Rosenberg (of @nubblelightkeeper fame) has been rowing out to the Nubble since 2012. High school English teacher by day, lighthouse keeper by season, making the crossing several times a week in a small rowboat, about 100 yards of open water, whatever the conditions offer. That "edited" philosophy stayed with her as her world expanded into photography and lifestyle writing.
