Description

Born from a winter of research and a few fish tin dinners, the Coastland Caviar Dish is something we've been quietly working on for months. Every caviar bead, fish and letter painted by hand in Burlington, Vermont, then fired twice — each piece carrying over two hours of work and coming out entirely its own.

The first batch out of a kiln is never the whole story, and we know that. There are things we'd still tweak, details we're still chasing. But at some point two perfectionists had to step aside and let the work speak for itself.

These six are that moment. Hand-built, hand-painted, slightly imperfect, entirely intentional. These will always be first - and now they can be yours.

Note: Due to our limited production run, all orders are final sale — no returns or exchanges. In the rare case of a material defect, we’ll make it right. Thank you for being part of a smaller, more intentional way of making things.

THE MAKER

Amber Tozzie of Aries Season Ceramics, Burlington, Vermont. Ten years into her craft, Amber works minutes from the shores of Lake Champlain — through all four seasons, in all their fullness. Her studio is where mindfulness meets making — a quiet counterweight to everything loud about the world right now.

This dish came out of a real collaboration. We spent a winter together studying vintage caviar tins, eating from fish tins at dinner, obsessing over color and lettering and the weight of a dot. Amber took that vision and found a process — refining, adjusting, firing, starting again. And then we had to let go. Two perfectionists stepping back long enough to say — these are ready.

The Caviar Dish is her first collaboration with Coastland. It won't be the last.
