This website is operated by Coastland Supply LLC ("Coastland Supply," "we," "us," or "our"). By visiting coastlandsupply.com, creating an account, subscribing to our list, or placing an order, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

We keep this page as short and plain as we can. If something here is unclear, write to us at fieldguide@coastlandsupply.com and we'll explain it.

Who can order

You need to be at least the age of majority in the state or province where you live, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. You agree not to use our products or the site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates any law in your jurisdiction.

Products, colors, and availability

We make things in limited runs. When a run sells out, it's gone until we make more, and we may never make more.

Our goods are made from natural materials, and several are finished by hand. Canvas and leather are natural fibers and hides, dyed, washed, waxed, and tanned in batches. Ceramics are thrown one at a time by an independent maker.

Variation in color, weight, texture, hand, grain, and markings is expected and is not a defect. This applies both between individual pieces in the same run and between one run and the next.

Canvas type, weight, and finish, and leather type, tannage, and finish, vary by product and by production run, and may change without notice as we refine what we make. The specifications on a product page describe that product as offered at that time. They are not a commitment that any past, future, or otherwise similar piece uses the same materials.

We've done our best to photograph everything accurately, but we can't guarantee that the colors on your screen match the colors in your hands.

We may change products, descriptions, and prices at any time without notice, and we may discontinue anything at any time. We are not liable to you or anyone else for any change, price adjustment, or discontinuation.

Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy, not a completed sale. We may accept or decline any order, and we may limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household, or per order. This includes orders placed under the same customer account, the same payment method, or the same billing or shipping address.

If we cancel or adjust an order, we'll try to reach you at the email or billing address you gave us. If we cancel after charging you, we'll refund you in full.

We may decline orders that appear to be placed by dealers or resellers.

You agree to give current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information, and to keep it updated so we can complete your order and reach you if we need to.

Pricing and payment

All prices are in U.S. dollars. Prices are subject to change without notice.

We are not responsible for typographical errors in pricing or product information, and we reserve the right to correct any error and to cancel any order placed on incorrect information, even after the order is confirmed and your card is charged. If that happens, we'll refund you in full.

Payment is processed by our payment providers. We don't store your full card details.

Shipping and risk of loss

Shipping timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Once a package is handed to the carrier, delivery is out of our control. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier takes possession.

Returns and exchanges

Due to our limited production runs, all orders are final sale. No returns or exchanges. In the rare case of a material defect or damage in transit, we'll make it right.

Preorders

Some items are sold before they're finished. Shipping windows on preorders are our best estimate and may move. If a window moves significantly, we'll email you. If we can't fulfill a preorder at all, we'll refund it in full.

Wholesale and custom orders

Wholesale, corporate, and custom orders are governed by the separate written terms of that order, which control if they conflict with anything here.

Our content

The photography, illustration, product copy, Field Notes editorial, brand marks, and site design are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. "Coastland Supply" and the Coastland crest are our marks.

You're welcome to share our images and posts on social media with credit. You may not use our content for commercial purposes, resale listings, advertising, or training machine learning models without our written permission.

What you send us

If you send us photographs, reviews, ideas, feedback, or other material, whether by email, social media, or a review on our site, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, publish, and adapt it in connection with our business, with credit where it makes sense.

You confirm that what you send is yours to send, doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, and doesn't contain anything unlawful or defamatory. We're not obligated to use, keep, or return anything you send, and we may edit or remove it.

Third-party links and services

Our site uses third-party services for payments, email, analytics, reviews, and shipping, and may link to third-party sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products, or practices. Review their terms and privacy policies before using them.

Accuracy of the site

We work to keep the site current, but some information may be out of date. Material on this site is provided for general information and shouldn't be relied on as the sole basis for a decision. We're under no obligation to update it.

Care, use, and wear

Care instructions are given per product and are guidance based on our own experience with the materials used in that run. Because materials and finishes vary, care that suits one piece may not suit another. Follow the instructions on the product page for the piece you own.

Normal wear, softening, fading, darkening, patina, creasing, and change in shape over time are the expected behavior of natural materials, not faults. Damage from misuse, accident, alteration, improper cleaning, or ordinary wear is not covered.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

We do not guarantee that your use of the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. Products and services are provided "as is" and "as available," except where a warranty cannot be excluded by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coastland Supply LLC, its owners, employees, and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or any product bought through it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coastland Supply LLC and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Termination

We may refuse service, terminate accounts, or cancel orders at our discretion, including where we believe someone has violated these terms. Obligations incurred before termination survive it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The current version is always on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Vermont, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
