The Stonewear Sea Charm

Our take on the bag charm this summer is a little... unconventional.

Amber of Aries Season Ceramics was on a streak. She'd just finished our Caviar Dish and the studio momentum carried straight into these: three fish and an oyster. The Trout, The Mackerel, The Herring, The Oyster. Each one hand-formed, hand-painted, and kiln-fired in her Burlington studio, one at a time. The brushwork shifts, the glaze pools differently, the fins sit how they sit. No two are alike because no two can be.

Each fish carries a dyed quartz crystal lure. The Oyster keeps a cultured pearl. Because an oyster should.

And yes, ceramic on a bag. We know. Fired stoneware is tougher than it looks... Lets call it stonewear... It rides on the outside of a tote the way a good enamel pin rides on a jacket. Treat it like something you care about, not something you baby. That's the whole Coastland idea anyway.

Clip it to your tote, your keys, your pack. Keep the water close.
